Onion Rings (Vegan + Gluten Free)


I hadn't had onion rings for about a year before trying this recipe. One day I woke up and was tired of being deprived of one of my favourite foods so I decided to just make them myself. The results were not disappointing.

They're super crispy, easy (but kinda messy) to make and

d e l i c i o u s.


What I used:

  • Oat flour

    Note: I literally didn’t have oat flour so I just dumped some oatmeal in a blender, pulsed it for a few seconds and boom.

  • Cashew milk

  • Onion

  • Olive oil

What I did:

  1. Cut onion into thick slices

  2. Pour out flour into a bowl

  3. Pour cashew milk into a separate bowl

  4. Cover onion ring in oat flour

  5. Dip onion ring into cashew milk

  6. Cover onion in out flour (yes, again).

  7. Pour olive oil into nonstick pan & warm at medium heat

  8. Fry onion rings on both sides until golden brown

  9. Feast

What you can do differently:

  • Mix salt & pepper into oat flour to add a lil' something extra
