My parents are Jamaican so I grew up on this stuff. I've you've never had it you need to try it.
*If you're never seen plantain before it looks really similar to a banana. You'll know it's ripe when it looks like a rotten banana haha. You don't want to cook it until it's covered in black spots and feels soft.

Peel the plantain
Cut it into little circles
Drop the plantain in oil
Turn them over once they get all golden and luscious
Remove from heat
Top with salt & pepper
What you can do differently:
Cut the plantain into strips instead of circles
Don't use black pepper (I feel like most people don't but I really like it so...)
